Discovery in Art and Poetry...

The Atascadero Library, located at 6555 Capistrano Avenue, will celebrate spring with a special exhibit of art and poetry, beginning April 3 and continuing through May 31.

The work of several well-known local artists will be included: Pat Cairns, Jim Carlisle, Sheri DeBro, Dennis Dillow, Sandi Heller, Sue McKee, Sandra Rude, Joe Schwartz, and Cheryl Strahl. The exhibit features art created with oil, pastel, photography, watercolor, graphite, tapestry, and collage.

To commemorate National Poetry Month, poems written by twenty local poets on the theme of discovery will be exhibited as well.

On Thursday, April 6, from 5:30-7 p.m., the library will host a reception to introduce the artists and poets who have contributed to this exhibit. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is encouraged to attend.        --- Eileen O'Grady
