Scott Rosenblum Dances for Atascadero Robotics Team
Article by Grenda Ernst

Scott Rosenblum is a home town man, born in San Luis Obispo and making Atascadero his home since 1995. He is representing the Atascadero Education Foundation in the 2018 edition of Dancing With Our Stars and the funds he raises are in support of the champion Atascadero Robotics Team. His dancing credits include senior winter formal, prom and assorted weddings and, as he says, "That's it!" However, this versatile young man is ready for new experiences and should have no problem stepping into the role of Community Star.

Scott attended Atascadero High School where he now teaches AP Statistics and honors Algebra 2 and coaches the swim team. In his senior year he was MVP of the water polo team and currently his interests include surfing, fly fishing and back packing in the Sierra. He balances these athletic pursuits by playing music with friends and teaching Sunday School at the Santa Margarita Community Church. Considering the depth of his interests and activities, it is no wonder that he was among the Top 30 in his AHS senior class.

Scott shared his reasons for being willing to dance on behalf of the robotics Team. "I think the robotics Team is an incredible opportunity for students at AHS. They learn skills that apply to the way the world is going. Their success is inspiring and something that should be celebrated and promoted by our community." Scott tells us that he feels honored to be chosen to participate in DWOS and privileged to support our community in this way. Welcome aboard Scott!

Kara Frenzel is working with Scott to develop his dancing skills and with her depth of dance experience, she makes up for Scott's inexperience. She has been dancing since she was a child and has studied every dance form that she could, including jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, swing, salsa, improvisation and choreography. In college she took classes in ballroom, Latin, night club and Lindy. She has performed with multiple tour groups and presently, she works full time as a dance professional. As an All Star Champion dancer on the West Coast Swing circuit, she teaches, judges, competes and performs, nationally and internationally. At home, she offers private and groups lessons and more information about her can be found on Last year, her first with DWOS, she starred in a stunning production of Material Girl. After watching Kara perform in Material Girl, her mother, Jane Frenzel, decided to join the DWOS family as a Community Star this year, dancing to raise funds for the Atascadero Library.
