March 2013 - Dancing with Our Stars

The fourth annual Atascadero: Dancing with Our Stars, a centennial celebration of dance, was a huge success, earning more than $90,000 at the Saturday night event for the campaign to "Open the Doors". Dan and Eileen O'Grady's salsa routine took first place (photo on right). Janet K. McLennan, M.D., and Christopher Ellwood won the People's Choice award for receiving the most votes during the event (they also won this award at the Sunday matinee) with their beautiful waltz medley. The first place and People's Choice award winners were choreographed by Frank Sanchez. In second place were Mary Uebersax and instructor/choreographer Dan Davis who performed a rumba/cha cha medley; Don Idler and instructor/choreographer Sharon Davis took third place with a 1930s era fox trot.
