Alice's Bookstore  

The Alice Creasy Rew Bookstore is located in  the lobby of the Atascadero Library. This is the place to find great used books for sale at fabulous bargain prices. The Bookstore offers fiction and non-fiction, children's books, coffee table books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and audio books. The bookstore is staffed by helpful volunteers and is generally open whenever the library is open; PROVIDED volunteers are available.

  WE CANNOT ACCEPT the following:

• Books that aremoldy or mildewed due to storage in an attic, garage, etc.

• Books that are underlined, highlighted, or with dog-eared pages

• Books that are torn, missing pages or have broken spines

• Reference Books, Encyclopedias, and Text Books

• Reader’s Digest condensed books

• VHS or Cassette tapes.

  WE DO ACCEPT:

• Magazines – news magazines must be dated within 2 months of the date brought into the bookstore

• DVDs and CDs

• Children’s Books printed after 1990 (prior to this the printers ink contained some lead)

• Mass Market/Paperbacks in good condition

• Fiction and Non-Fiction published within the last 5 years

• Jigsaw Puzzles

• Vintage or collectible items in good condition

 

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS IN THE LOBBY OF THE COUNTY BUILDING.

Volunteer...

Volunteers are almost always needed to help out at the bookstore and at the book sales. If you stop by the Bookstore and it is closed, it's more than likely because there aren't any volunteers available to staff it. SO, if you have a few hours to spare and would like to help, contact Sharon.
